World Energy Council Launches “Start Up Energy Transition Awards”

In September 2017, the World Energy Council (WEC) launched a strategic partnership with DENA (the German Energy Agency) on the “Start Up Energy Transition (SET) Awards.” The aim of the SET Award is to identify the best innovators from around the world who are working on ideas affecting the global energy transition and climate change. The categories of the SET reflect critical issues to address the energy transition including low-carbon energy production, intelligent grids, or innovative mobility. Interested applicants must apply by 31 January 2018 at: www.startup-energy-transition.com. The WEC Lebanon Committee encourages Lebanese individuals to apply. Entering the competition will give young companies a chance to be recognised as the leading entrepreneurs in their category, give them global visibility and a network of peers, potential partners or investors, as well as an opportunity to take part in the Innovation Day of the 2019 World Energy Congress in Abu Dhabi.
